Do you ever find yourself worrying about the future or rehashing the past? Do you ever spend time trying to “figure out” how to get to your goals, or how to smooth over your problems?

Probably yes. You are human, and worrying is something most of us do regularly. Many of us believe we have to worry in order to make sure everything will be ok. However, did you know that worrying about the future or the past doesn’t serve any positive function whatsoever?

Worrying never helps because now is the only moment that matters. All of your creative power occurs in the now. Your thoughts, beliefs and expectations about this moment are what are creating this moment right now, and this is always how it goes.

Through the Law of Attraction, your focus creates your reality moment to moment.  If you feel good and have positive expectations in the moment, the moment is a good one. If you don’t, it’s not. It’s just that simple.

For instance, right now I expect to be writing this article, and so I am. I’m feeling good and enjoying the moment, so I am perfectly comfortable and the ideas are flowing freely.  Even the weather is a great reflection what I expect and how I feel, which is why I’ve decided to take my laptop outside to write.

Everything that is going on in my life right now is the perfect representation of what my focus and expectations are right now.

To be sure, there are things coming up in my future that I could choose to worry about, but I’m not going to bother because there’s no point in it. I don’t have to worry about the bills I have to pay in a few days, or the problems I may have to solve later today. I don’t have to worry about anything because this moment is wonderful just the way it is.

For example, I don’t need to figure out how to get the new truck I’ve been wanting right now. The only reason I would need to figure it out right now would be if it was about to come crashing through my lanai onto my patio right before me.

In that event, it would be more of a pain than a wish come true, so I’m ok that this thing I want will be saved for another moment.  After all, a truck doesn’t belong out here on my back patio and its sudden arrival would be certain to wreck havoc on this nice comfortable moment I’ve got going back here. At the least, it would completely distract me from the writing I came back here to do.

When the time is right, I’ll experience another “now moment” to bring this truck into my reality, or address any of the things I need to do to get it.  I’ll know when it’s time to put my mind to good use, and when my thoughts and actions are actually needed and relevant to the manifestation. 

I won’t know what I need to do until the time comes, so why drive myself nuts trying to figure it all out right now? Worry and speculation today can’t step in tomorrow and handle the details for me, and from where I stand in this now I can’t possibly know exactly what will be needed from me when the time comes. There are just too many variables to consider that I just don’t know right now.

Every moment in my life is created as it’s unfolding. Them’s the facts. I can’t ever jump ahead, and I can’t ever go back a few spaces. 

Becoming aware of this has taken a lot of the stress out of my life. After all, If I can only create my now moment, there is no point in worrying or concerning myself about the future, or in lamenting the past.

Beyond this, I’ve learned that not only is worrying a waste of time, it’s actually a bad idea and should be avoided at all costs. While I used to think that worrying prepared me for the future, today I know the exact opposite is true.

Why is worrying a bad idea? Worrying is always a bad idea because when I worry in the present moment, I only create a more negative present moment for me to experience. Nothing gets fixed, I’m more miserable, and my reality in the now reflects back to me this misery.

Chances are you’ve experienced this before.  Have you ever noticed that the more you worry about a problem, the worse it makes you feel in the present moment? Have you ever noticed that the more you complain about something, the more reasons you remember to complain about it in the present moment?

Worrying about the future or the past only serves to tarnish your now, and knowing this is such a relief.  After all, who wants to feel like they have to be concerned all the time?

Isn’t it nice to know you don’t have to fuss over the past and the future? Isn’t it relieving to know you don’t have to live three steps ahead of where you are?  Isn’t it nice to know if you just focus on feeling your best now, everything will be just fine?

So if you’ve been worried or concerned, remind yourself today to let it go. You don’t need to think about what went wrong and you don’t need to figure out how to get anything right down the road.  All you have to do is enjoy your now.

Feel free to think about the past or the future, but only if it makes you feel good to do so.  Imagine the truck if it feels pleasant to daydream about it, but leave it alone if you’re worried about how you’re going to pay for it or how you’re going to get it. Look back on the moments in your childhood that you loved, but turn away from the moments of sadness or regret.

Remember, if you feel good and have a positive focus in this moment, you are doing all you can do to create a good life for yourself. Now is the only place you will ever have any control to shape your life, so take advantage of right now and make the most of the present moment.

Give yourself permission to relax and to have a little more fun. Now is the only moment that matters, so let go a little and know in your heart from a more relaxed state you will be just fine. Make how you feel right now your primary focus, and let your now moment be as good as it can be.
